Community Connections: First Impressions
On Wednesday May 12th, a group of ten physician hospital administrators arrived in La Crosse, Wisconsin to share in a cross-cultural professional exchange focusing on hospital administration. We asked them of their first impressions of the U.S. upon arrival, this is what they shared:
- It is very nice.
- My host family is nice I feel like I am at home.
- Super
- Beautiful, people are friendly. The U.S. is a happy nation.
- Wonderful. This is a dream come true.
- Total freedom, there are no fences. Everything smells nice. I have slept well for the first time in days. I wish my family could see this.
- I like the willingness of the people to help. This country is a beautiful, quiet place. It is very pleasant.
- The first stage is like every other country, everything is new and exciting. I can’t wait for the second stage, after I have seen everything, to see what it has to offer me.
- My impressions
- First – friendliness
- Second – pretty quiet
- Third – cleanliness
- Rules are obeyed here, at least from what I can tell. I am very impressed with the kindness that I have witnessed. I am also impressed by the values inherited from the parents by our host families. I hope that someday the families will visit Moldova so we can share what we have with them.
Throughout the delegates visit we will be sharing pictures of the delegation as they
meet with professionals in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. Please check back to, through pictures, travel with the delegates as they visit the U.S. for the first time.
